HSBC opens 58th Malaysian branch--the first in Sabah-Sarawak

HSBC opened its first branch in the Sabah-Sarawak area at Inanam, expanding the total Malaysian branch network to 58 location.

 

Rafe Haneef, HSBC Amanah Malaysia CEO, expressed delight in finally setting foot in Sabah and Sarawak.

"We acknowledge the development in this area and anticipate that the commercial maturity in this neigbourhood will further increase the importance of Inanam," said Haneef. "Furthermore, the state is an important market for HSBC and will continue to be significant in the years to come," he added.

Rafe also said having the Kota Kinabalu city bus terminal in Inanam reflected the importance of the township and that it was developing into a bustling commercial hub.
