Standard Chartered extends business in 4 branches

Four Standard Chartered branches will open for business later and longer. This is part of the bank's overall approach to be available to customers when and where they want to bank through a variety of channels like branch banking, mobile and internet banking. The four branches are Battery Road, open from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mondays to Fridays; Marine Parade, Tampines and Woodlands, open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., seven days a week; Vico City and Suntec City, which are both open from 11:00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m., seven days a week.Based on research, Standard Chartered realised that some consumers prefer to visit banks on weekends when they are most relaxed and with their families. To cater to this group of customers, branches that are open till 8:00 p.m., seven days a week, are at convenient locations within shopping malls. These branches offer the same suite of services. Others, like busy executives, prefer to visit banks at later hours on weekdays on their way home.Lai Pei-Si, General Manager, Branch Sales and Service, said: "The majority of our customers are at work from 9:00 to 5:00, and many have asked that we extend our operational hours so they can do their banking. With the new extended branch banking hours, our customers, including SMEs have more flexibility and can now walk into the branch after 5:00 p.m. to deposit cash and cheques, apply for credit cards or loans or to speak to our relationship managers for advisory on mortgage, insurance and investment services."
