Foong to lead strategy and change at Maybank

The Maybank group announced the appointment of Michael Foong Seong Yew as its chief strategy and transformation officer.


Foong, 43, will lead the group’s strategy and transformation initiatives, where he will help oversee the corporate development office covering merger integration and special projects, as well as the methods and systems unit.

Michael joins Maybank from Accenture, where he was the managing director of the management consulting practice in Malaysia.

He spent 17 years at Accenture, serving financial services clients throughout Asean and Asia Pacific, primarily banks but also insurance companies and stock exchanges.
