Tse appointed HSBC asset management CEO in Singapore

Ms Mah Yeok Fun, the incumbent, will take up the newly created role of Head of Institutional Business Development, South East Asia.

Before this appointment, Mr Patrick Tse was Head of Strategic Business Development for Asia Pacific and based in Hong Kong, where he drove the strategy and growth of HSBC Global Asset Management's business in the region.

"Our Singapore office, which currently manages one of the world's largest offshore Indian Equity funds, is growing into a regional management office for South East Asia.  These appointments expand our senior management team in Singapore and signify our continuing commitment to growing the asset management business in South East Asia," said Rudolf Apenbrink, Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Global Asset Management, Asia-Pacific.

Mr Tse started his career as Resident Office Trainee with HSBC Hong Kong, and later held various executive positions in Corporate and Retail Banking based in Hong Kong, United Kingdom and the United States. He went on to hold senior positions in various management consulting firms before joining HSBC Global Asset Management in 2006.  Mr Tse holds a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Ms Mah has worked with HSBC Global Asset Management since December 2004. She has spent twenty years in the financial industry, starting her career with the Monetary Authority of Singapore and subsequently joining the asset management industry. With her extensive experience in asset management, she has a strong and proven track record in developing the institutional business in Singapore. Ms Mah is a graduate of Yale University and a CFA charterholder.
